Toyota Camry 2003-2006 Intake Air Temperature and MAF Sensor Inspection

Regular inspection of the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is essential for maintaining the performance and efficiency of your Toyota Camry manufactured between 2003-2006. Follow these steps to ensure proper functionality:

MAF Sensor (AIR METER) Inspection

SENSOR PINS DATA:

  • 1: +B
  • 2: E2G
  • 3: VG
  • 4: THA
  • 5: E2

  1. Apply battery voltage to pin 1 (+B) to positive B and pin 2 (E2G) with negative.
  2. Using a voltmeter, connect the positive lead to pin 3 (VG) and the negative lead to pin 2 (E2G).
  3. Blow air into the airflow meter and check for voltage fluctuations. If there are none, consider replacing the MAF sensor.

Air Temperature Sensor Resistance Test

Resistance:

  • -20°C: 13.6-18.4 kOhm
  • 20°C: 2.21-2.69 kOhm
  • 60°C: 0.493-0.667 kOhm

Check the resistance of Pin 4(THA) and Pin 5 (E2)

If the resistance values differ from the specified range, it indicates a potential issue, and the sensor may need replacement.

Performing regular inspections and maintenance of the Intake Air Temperature and MAF Sensor ensures optimal performance and efficiency of your Toyota Camry 2003-2006 model.
